  10.        This release note describes patch SG0002071 to IRIX 6.4.

  14.        This patch contains bug fixes for all platforms.

  19.        This patch contains bug fixes for IRIX 6.4 (version
  20.        1263561140).  The software cannot be installed on other

  25.        This patch must not be installed unless kernel rollup patch
  26.        1978 (or one of its successors) is already installed on the
  27.        system.  If patch 2071 is installed on a system without
  28.        patch 1978, the kernel will not link with an undefined
  29.        variable dfs_fstype.

  33.        This patch contains fixes for the following bugs in IRIX
  34.        6.4.  Bug numbers from Silicon Graphics bug tracking system

  37.           +o 449832:  Imon would hang if an ioctl was applied to an
  38.             inode which was currently in a long-wait open call (for
  39.             instance), such as a fifo or a modem tty device.

  41.           +o 466052:  Imon supported a maximum of 32k files, now
  42.             increased to 128k files.
  43.  
  44.           +o 485765:  Imon had no support for DFS filesystems.

  77.        notes, you are unsure whether your hardware and software
  78.        meet the requirements for installing a particular patch, run
  79.        _i_n_s_t.  The _i_n_s_t program does not allow you to install
  80.        patches that are incompatible with your hardware or
  81.        software.

  83.        Patch software is installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  84.        software product.  Follow the instructions in your _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e
  85.        _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _A_d_m_i_n_i_s_t_r_a_t_o_r'_s _G_u_i_d_e to bring up the miniroot
  86.        form of the software installation tools.

  88.        Follow these steps to select a patch for installation:

  90.          1.  At the Inst> prompt, type
